Rowshan has been making ceramics since 2004. He started at The San Diego Art Department and currently makes ceramics at The Clay Associates.
His drums are inspired by Persian literature and decorative arts. He carefully selects the poems of famous Persian poets (Rumi, Omar Khayyam, Hafez and others) to intensify the beauty of the drums.
All the drums are high-fired which makes them strong.
He is also interested in the ceramics of other countries. When he was traveling around
the world between 2007-2009, he studied this art with different artists including
Lucho Soler from Peru and Maurelio Huaraca Sanchez (Ceramic artist in Lurin/Peru who is a member of Ichimay Wari). He also studied
at The Gijduvan Ceramic Center in Gijduvan,Uzbekistan and in Ban Chan village in Luang Prabang, Laos and observed many other local potters.
